Female Child Rights "Musawah"
The program aims mainly to reform the interaction between the boys and girls, to become a relationship entirely based on respecting equality in rights and freedoms.
In 1997, the women studies centre proposed an idea to enhance girls’ rights through a program in which a group of civil Palestinian social organizations worked in collaboration with Save the Children in Hebron. The project was successful in spreading a new culture that supports the rights of the girls in the society, providing each girl with the confidence of citizens with full rights, rather than second-rate citizens in Palestine. It became one of the most important programs implemented by Women Studies Centre in the provinces of Jerusalem, Hebron, Nablus and Jenin. This project was done in cooperation between the Ministry of Education, UNRWA, and a large number of civil social organizations in the mentioned provinces. The program aims mainly to reform the interaction between the boys and girls, to become a relationship entirely based on respecting equality in rights and freedoms. Thus, it aims to establish a progressive culture that honors equality, and enhances the dignity of humans regardless of the gender, color or age. This was achieved through developing different tools such as stories , theatre, songs, and drawings, in addition to developing children's leadership skills and confidence through participating in the program. Nowadays, the centre works on developing the program by including the support of children with disabilities, in order to make sure that the goal of non-discrimination includes practical implications for children with disabilities.
